VRayFur Carpet Tutorial

Alright! I think it passed long time since I actually wrote a tutorial, with examples and FREE 3D Models for Download -such as VRayFur Carpet  that was made with3Ds Max and VRay.
Here’s the carpet that I was working on during my last project, and the difference between this one and many other tutorials on the net, that this one actually teaches you how to use Maps in order to give style and natural look to your VRayFur Carpet.

by Maxim A. Ganzha, Russia Web: www.3dmaks.com

Hello everybody, my name is Maksim Ganzha, after many requests from my friends I decided to write a little article about how I’m creating my interiors.  We will look through the process of rendering of one of my last work with super lighting and gorgeous composition =), which I made in Mental Ray.
Did you ever think why some interior works in galleries are more interesting than others? The main secret is in beautiful lights settings and stylish composition. That’s exactly what we will talk about in this article.

Making of Four Seasons Hotel Lobby

First, let's take a look at the final images. We only did one image, so the other one is just a close up to see the better quality of the render and details.

Final work

Our base materials were photographs. Our client wanted to do a photomontage at first, but after a few brainstorms about setting the lightning, right perspective and colour correction we decided and convinced client to go full 3D. The main problem which discarded the photomontage was the lack of high resolution photos of the interior.

This is a basic tutorial of the Florence Design Academy to understand how to use the SPLINES effectively in the field of Interior/Furniture Design. This tutorial is based only on splines. It is very important that your chair has the correct dimensions, otherwise the rendering with Mental Ray will not be optimal. Let's begin our tutorial.
